The Supreme Court on Tuesday thrashed the Central Bureau of Investigation and the UPA government on CBI coal block allocations scam.
Supreme Court demanded answers from CBI for breaching its order and sharing the investigation report with political executives. The Supreme Court tore the CBI and asked why it was kept in the dark about the report sharing with the government.
“Why did the CBI not disclose earlier that its investigation report was shared with the government?” the Court asked.
The Apex court called the government’s vetting of the coal report a “massive breach of trust which has shaken our foundation”. Court advised CBI to stay away from political interference.
The Court asked CBI director Ranjit sinha to file another affidavit on Monday to answer what changes were made in its status report on the coal blocks allocation case and at whose instruction.
