A special CBI team is leaving for Italy on Monday to probe into the Rs 3600 crore VVIP chopper deal with Italian defence company AgustaWestland.
Along with the CBI personnel, an officer from Defence Ministry and an official of the External Affairs Ministry will also visit Italy.
CBI is probing the involvement of alleged former Air Chief Marshal SP Tyagi’s cousin Sanjeev Tyagi’s role in the AgustaWestland chopper deal and is trying to find out the main person behind the 50 million euros kickback.
