A deep trouble for controversial Trinamool Congress MP Tapas Pal after the Calcutta High Court on Monday ordered the West Bengal CID to investigate and submit a report on his threat speech by September 1.
While passing the judgement on a petition, Justice Dipankar Dutta slammed the West Bengal Police for negligence of duty and inaction against Tapas Pal.
Justice Dutta also asked the police to treat petitioner Biplab Chowdhury’s complaint against Pal as an FIR.
Tapas Pal, MP from Krishnanagar was caught on camera on June 30 threatening the CPI (M) workers to “beware” of him as he would not “spare you and destroy your entire clan” and send “my boys to rape your women”.
“If any CPIM man is present here. Listen to me. If you ever touch any Trinamool Congress worker or their families at Choumaha, you have to pay for this. Don’t try to act smart with me. I am smarter than you,” Pal said.
“Earlier, you guys have bullied me on various occasions. If you insult the mothers and daughters of Trinamool workers. Then I won’t spare you. I will let loose my boys in your homes and they will commit rape. I will teach each of you a lesson,” he added.
