Announcing its verdict in the 2002 hit-and-run case, the Bombay High Court
on Thursday, acquitted actor Salman Khan of all the criminal charges against him. Earlier in May this year, a Sessions Court had convicted Khan for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and a sentence term of five years was awarded. However, Khan did get bail within some hours after his lawyers moved to the High Court challenging the Sessions Court’s verdict.
The High Court in its verdict concluded on Thursday that the prosecution had not established its case against the actor beyond a reasonable doubt as is required under the criminal law as it narrated the many “unexplained and glaring anomalies” in the evidence.
Khan, who is shooting for his upcoming film was present in the court when the judgement was announced. His sister Alvira too was in the court.
The case Khan has been acquitted in dates back to 28th September, 2002, when Khan’s vehicle plunged on the footpath lining shops and dashed into a bakery in Bandra in the dead of the night, running over laborers who were sleeping outside, killing one and injuring others.

About Sprightly Spirit
“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!Tags:
