BJP leaders are eagerly waiting for Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung’s decision on the formation of government Delhi.
BJP leader Jagdish Mukhi, who has emerged as the front-runner for the chief minister’s post since Dr. Harsh Vardhan inducted as the union health minister in the Modi-cabinet, told reporters that the ball is in governor’s court.
“The ball is in the court of the Lieutenant Governor. He is under statutory duty to explore all the circumstances, to explore all the possibilities and try his level best to install a popular government,” Jagdish Mukhi said on Friday.
“He is to take the initiative. Once he consults various political parties, take some initiative, we will immediately revert to you (the media),” he added.
Praising Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s Delhi Budget, Mukhi said, “It is a very good budget and the highlight is that there is no new tax”.
