Celebrations commence outside BJP’s party offices in Maharashtra as well as Haryana where the party has performed well. In Haryana the party has performed spectacularly well but in Maharashtra the party has not been able to get a majority to form a government. But they haven’t performed badly either. It is only that they will require support of an ally to form the government in the state.
According to the speculations, the Bharatiya Janata Party will probably join hands with its erstwhile ally Shiv Sena. The party leadership may go into talks with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray for forming a coalition government. There are also possibilities of BJP forming an alliance with the NCP but news poured in that the RSS isn’t happy with the NCP. Not just this but the BJP could possible move with independents who have done considerably well in the state.
Even as speculations are making rounds, the party has confirmed that a parliamentary board meeting has been called at 6 in the evening. So a detailed discussion is expected to take place in this meeting and possibly big decisions would also come out through this meeting. A press conference as well is likely to be conducted.
Meanwhile, sources have told Spectralhues that everything is possible at the moment but if at all Shiv Sena and BJP come together then there could be division of tenure for the post of Chief Minister. If that happens then, sources say Shiv Sena may demand the tenure for the first 1 and ½ years. Remember Uddhav Thackeray desires to become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
The NCP too has done noticeably well in these elections but for congress it has been a bad time. Even as several senior congress leaders have lost elections from their strong constituencies, ex-CM Prithviraj Chavan successfully won elections from South Karad.
The latest update is that Congress State President Manikrao Thackeray has resigned from his post and has sent his resignation to Sonia Gandhi. He said that he takes up the responsibility for the defeat of his party.
