On the day when India began voting in search of a new government, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) releases its much-awaited 2014 election manifesto.
With slogans “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” and “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas”, the 52-page manifesto was released by BJP’s Prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in presence of senior party leaders including Murli Manohar Joshi, Rajnath Singh, LK Advani and Sushma Swaraj.
The BJP manifesto focused on economy revival, tax reforms and infrastructure. It also talks about ending policy paralysis, tackling corruption and creation of job for youth. BJP promises zero tolerance on terrorism, strong foreign policy and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in all sectors except in multi-brand retail.
The party promises to tackle food inflation and price rise, e-governance, tax reforms by making it more robust and simple and curbing black money.

“Good governance and inclusive development would dominate his agenda.”I will do nothing for myself. I will do nothing out of ill-intent,” Modi promised.
The manifesto also mentioned a draft a Uniform Civil Code, abolition of Article 370 and to provide special status to Jammu and Kashmir. BJP also said that they will “explore all possibilities within the framework of the Constitution to facilitate the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.”
BJP also promises reforms in minority educational systems and institutions. National Madrasa modernization programme would be formed in consult with minority leaders.
