Principle opposition party BJP has launched fierce attack on centre over its Prime Ministerial Candidate Narendra Modi’s security issue after centre refused to give Modi a SPG cover following the Patna blast.
Rejecting BJP’s demand of special protection for Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Centre said that they have provided enough security to Modi and it cannot extend SPG cover to him due to technicality.
After the BJP Parliamentary Board meet on Wednesday where the party passed a unanimous resolution saying the blasts was an attempt to liquidate the BJP leaders, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar criticised the Centre and the Nitish Kumar government in Bihar for their irresponsibility.
“We cannot do politics on terror. The country has lost two Prime Ministers due to terrorism and we should learn lessons from this. We hope the Centre will take note of the threat to Narendra Modi and not do politics on the issue of security. We demand that Modi be provided adequate security,” Prakash Javadekar demanded.
“There is a law in the country. SPG is given according to the country’s law. Modi is already having NSG cover,” Home Minister Sushil kumar Shinde said.
