Former US President Bill Clinton said he is impressed with Narendra Modi’s economic policies.
In an interview with NDTV, the former President said he has closely watched Prime Minister Modi’s career after he took over as Gujarat chief minister and wanted to ‘leave Gujarat sectarian violence in the past’.
“I was impressed with Modi’s economic policies,” Clinton said.
He praised Modi’s decision to invite Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to his swearing-in ceremony to give a signal to Muslims.
“Nawaz at Modi’s inauguration may be signal to Muslims, Modi may be sending the message that he wants to govern for everybody,” he said.
Clinton downplayed Modi’s visa controversy by saying it was event of the past and US is looking forward to engage with Modi government.
