Its a big day for the Grand Alliance as Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar is set to return for the next term in the Bihar assembly with an astonishing victory. So far the trend and result suggests that Nitish Kumar led alliance will end anything between 155 and 165 seats while BJP trailed badly and could end at 70s.
The BJP has conceded defeat and the main campaigner Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called Nitish Kumar to congratulate on his win.
“Had a telephone conversation with Shri @nitishkumar & congratulated him on the victory.” Modi tweeted.
While Nitish Kumar grabbed the media attention, it was RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav who made a comeback after setbacks in the last few elections. His party is emerging as the single largest pary in the assembly, although JDU president Sharad Yadav cleared that “Even if Nitish wins fewer seats than Lalu, he will still be Chief Minister.”
Taunting BJP Sharad Yadav added, “The BJP made this a national election. They dragged in the cow, beef and the chief of the world’s biggest party said if we win, crackers will go off in Pakistan,” referring to a controversial remark of BJP chief Amit Shah.
