UP minister and Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan blames media for blowing IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal’s suspension out of proportion and said India does not need IAS officers.
“This is a British system. They had introduced it but they themselves are not using it. Be it China, Europe, America, Japan or the Gulf, this system exists nowhere. Why? Is it only these people (IAS officers) who are just 2000, 3000 or 10000 in number who can run the country? Is the population of over 125 crore illiterate, incapable or fools? They can also run the country,” Azam Khan said.
Azam Khan criticised Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over Nagpal’s suspension.
“The Congress has reduced to a level that Sonia Gandhi herself now writes letters in transfer cases. Such suspensions are a matter of routine,” he said.
Meanwhle another Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav said that there is no illegal mining in Up.
“I have personally visited many places, and have not found illegal mining taking place,” Shivpal said,
“You people complain that officials do not listen to you, and when we come on the spot and take action against them, then also questions are raised… Now, stern action will be taken against those officials who are lax and not providing justice to the common people, however big or small they might be,” Shivpal told reporters in Bahraich.
In our humble opinion it is the politicians rather than honest IAS officer that India does not need. It might be true that while there are no administrative set up similar to IAS in those countries, it is equally true that they have far better breed of politicians.
