The Aam Aadmi party Chief Arvind Kejriwal has created the history today when he sworn-in as the new and youngest chief minister of Delhi. Along with Kejriwal six ministers also took oath at Ramlila Maidan on Saturday.
The 45-year-old Kejriwal took metro to reach at the venue for the oath ceremony. He said he and his ministers will not use red beacon cars and will end the VIP culture of Delhi’s political elite.
“I appeal to my party let us never become arrogant. We are here to serve,” Kejriwal said soon after the oath.
“Let us swear that we will never seek nor offer a bribe,” he added.
“In earlier governments corruption used to be rewarded and honesty was punished. But now this will not be the case. I have told the officers not to fear anyone and work with honesty. There will be no witch-hunting,” Kejriwal said.
Kejriwal keeps portfolio of Home, Power, Finance, Planning and Vigilance in new AAP government. Manish Sisodia has been given charge of Education and PWD Ministry in the government. Rakhi Birla will take charge Women and Child Development Ministry, Social Justice and Languages and Somnath Bharti will head Tourism, Law, Administrative reforms in the Delhi government.
