BJP leader and former Cabinet Minister Arun Shourie said that to him Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is BJP’s PM candidate.
In an interview with CNN-IBN’s Karan Thapar, Arun Shourie said that he feels BJP’s campaign committee chief Narendra Modi is the party’s best choice for the post of Prime Minister and called Modi’s rivals ‘stateless leaders from Delhi’.
“He(Modi) is BJP’s PM candidate,” Shourie said.
“At the moment what the country wants is not divisive but decisive leadership and he has certainly demonstrated that,” Arun Shourie said.
When asked whether Modi could break the BJP’s top leadership like Sushma Swaraja’s, LK Advani, Arun Shourie compared them with former Prime Minister VP Singh and said, “I will not speak about stateless leaders in Delhi.” “Yes, that’s Gyani Ji’s description. He said ‘India mein do tarah ke leaders hain, state leaders like Kamraj, SK Patil or dooje stateless leaders VP Singh’.”
