The army had closed the border with Bhutan and Myanmar and began searching the milliants.
External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj had meanwhile spoken to Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay and urged him to take action against the militants who had taken shelter there.
“The external affairs minister has talked to the Bhutanese leadership at the highest level. We are also working on having others who could possibly help in this,” External affairs ministry spokesman Syed Akbaruddin said.
“This issue came up following possible leads which indicated that there may be others beyond Indian borders where we require assistance,” he added.
Over 72 thousand people in the four affected districts of Kokrajhar, Chirang, Sonitpur and Udalguri have taken shelter in 61 relief camps.
