Anna Hazare hits back at Arvind Kejriwal

The rift between Aam Aadmi Party and Anna Hazare team over the Lokpal Bill came out in public once again. Veteran social activist slams Arvind Kejriwal for opposing the current Lokpal bill and questioning Hazare for accepting the bill in current form.

“I welcome the Lokpal Bill created by the government. I believe this will serve good for the country,” said Hazare.

“Let Arvind Kejriwal do whatever he wants, I do not want to react to what his team members are saying. If Kejriwal and team say there are shortcomings in the Bill, then he should protest,” said Hazare.

Anna Hazare requested all parties to come forward and pass the bill in the Parliament. The activist also said he will continue hunger strike till the bill passed in the parliament.

Reacting to Kejriwal’s upright rejection to government’s Lokpal Bill, Anna supporter Kiran Bedi said, “Kejriwal should read the Bill if he has not read it.”

Arvind Kejriwal said that the current form of the Lokpal bill is powerless and will not curb corruption. AAP termed the bill as ‘Jokepal’. He also expressed his shock that how Anna accepted the government’s Lokpal Bill.

“I am really surprised, how can Anna accept the sarkari Lokpal Bill? Sarkari Lokpal is a ‘jokepal’. Whatever Anna may say, we will continue our fight for Jan Lokpal Bill till our last breath,” Kejriwal said.

AAP said they will oppose the bill as it not gives autonomy to the CBI.

“Appointment of Lokpal is in the hands of the politicians who themselves need to be investigated. So we cannot expect fair investigation,” said Kejriwal.
