After a meeting between Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh and Andhra leaders on Monday in Delhi, the party seems undecided what way it would go.
According to the sources, both the Telangana and Seemandhra leaders have opposed to President’s Rule in the state and requested high command to choose a new Chief Minister. Andhra Congress is pressurising the Delhi unit to consider forming a new government in the state under a new Chief Minister.
However, the senior Congress leaders are not too keen to choose the successor of former chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy who has resigned in protest of Andhra Pradesh division.
As the Lok Sabha elections are not too far, Congress had to take the decision quickly before election commission issues election guidelines. The elections for the Andhra and Telangana Assemblies could take place concurrently with the Lok Sabha polls depending on completion of state division by centre.
Meanwhile the governor had sent a report to the Centre recommending President’s Rule.
