Shiromani Akali Dal is set to bring an adjournment motion in the both houses of the parliament on Thursday over UK report on Operation Bluestar in which the British role has been asserted in 1984.
In the report it is mentioned that Britain did advise Indira Gandhi on planning a deadly attack against Sikh separatists in the Golden Temple at Amritsar in 1984.
British Foreign Secretary William Hague has claimed that the British role in Operation Bluestar was “purely advisory and limited”.
British Prime Minister David Cameron has also said that UK had “absolutely no direct involvement” in the planning of the attack by the Indian Army on the Golden Temple in 1984.
“There is absolutely no evidence of the UK Government involvement in the operation itself. This conclusion has been made after a thorough search of some 200 files and over 23,000 documents. I want the dialogue between this government and the Sikh community to continue,” Cameron told UK Sikh community.
Earlier Shiromani Akali Dal has demanded an apology from Britain over their role in Operation Bluestar.
