The US President Barack Obama will not be visiting Agra, reports in the media suggested on Saturday. Barack Obama, who has been invited as the chief guest for the Republic Day ceremony in New Delhi, was going to visit Agra with the first lady Michelle Obama, after addressing a selective gathering, on the 27th of January.
He will be paying homage at the Rajghat, Mahatma Gandhi’s crematorium, after which formal bi-lateral discussions are to take place between the two icons- Modi and Obama, over lunch. Day one ends with meeting and dining with the Indian President Pranab Mukherjee.
Jan 26, Monday: To preside over the events and attend the at-home reception of President Mukherjee. Important matters are to be discussed by Modi and Obama with business leaders in the afternoon.
Jan 27, Tuesday: A Selective gathering will be addressed and Obama will be Departing from Delhi.
A sizeable delegation is reported to accompany the President which consists of several top-notch bureaucrats, the First Lady and the core team, on Sunday, according to the White House.
