The Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has released party manifesto ahead of Lok Sabha polls on Thursday.
With focus on corruption the AAP has promised strong Jan Lokpal Bill, citizen’s charter, Police reforms, Women’s security, de-centralisation of power and self-rule. The manifesto says opposition to FDI in multi-brand retail and promised of bringing down the age to contest elections to 21 from 25.
Kejriwal promises Police reforms on AAP’s manifesto.
“Our government will put CCTV in police stations. We will put cameras in interrogation rooms. Anybody can ask for that footage using Right to Information,” Kejriwal said adding,
“There must be judicial accountability. We must have a fast, efficient and honest justice system. In five years, we will double the number of judges to ensure speedy justice.”
“Safety for citizens is a huge responsibility for us. Since the Delhi chief minister sat on a protest to support women’s safety, it shows how serious we are,” Kejriwal added.
AAP also tried to project itself as business friendly.
“We are not against industries or business, but we are against crony capitalism. We believe that unless industries don’t flourish we wont be able generate jobs. But, we are against the system of contract labours because it violates basic human rights,” Kejriwal said.
