Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced his three days China on Thursday from the hometown of the Chinese President Xi Jinping. PM Modi appreciated the Chinese President for warmly receiving him outside the capital city Beijing, making his opening remarks in Hindi and adding, “This is an honour to 125 crore Indians whom I am representing as Prime Minister.” President Jinping expressed his jubilance in welcoming Mr Modi in his hometown.
The two leaders hold summit-level talks on a lot of issues concerning the two nations and their relations. President Jinping welcomed Prime Minister Modi at the Shaanxi Guest House where the talks were held.
Chinese investment into the infrastructure projects in the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) and the controversial boundary dispute were the two crucial topics that were expected to be discussed, amongst the others.
Prime Minister is expected to visit capital city Beijing and Shanghai after Xi Jinping’s hometown Xi’an. The Prime Minister has expressed his confidence that his trip would deepen mutual trust, work out a roadmap for upgrading bilateral economic ties and set a “new milestone” for Asia and developing nations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is accompanied by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar and other senior officials.
