BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, on Saturday, claimed that Sunanda Pushkar wanted an appointment with Congress President Sonia Gandhi. She also had a meeting with her political secretary Ahmed Patel, a few days before she passed away in the Leela Hotel in Delhi on January 17, 2014.
“Police has confirmed that Sunanda went out on January 16 to meet somebody. The license number plate of the car is visible in the closed circuit television camera. I also know that on January 6, Sunanda had a word with Ahmad Patel, which means eleven days before she was murdered. She had definitely asked for an appointment to meet Sonia Gandhi,” said Swamy.
“One more thing that I had told Rajnath Singh was that when Shashi Tharoor was a minister, he, on the account of eyewitnesses and what Sunanda had told Nalini Singh, had spent three nights in Dubai with Mehr Tarar. This raises the question of national security because it is alleged that she belongs to the ISI, although her role is not yet known and he was a minister,” said Swamy.
Before her death, Pushkar had publicly accused her husband on Twitter, of having an affair with the Pakistani journalist Meher Tarar.
Meanwhile, in New Delhi, Senior journalist Nalini Singh was questioned related to the case. Singh was called by the team led by deputy commissioner of police Prem Nath at Sarojini Nagar police station, where she was questioned.
Singh told IANS: “I met them (police) for about 80 minutes. This was my first meeting with the police.”
