Noted Journalist And Author Fareed Zakaria Suspended For plagiarism

Renowned Indo-American journalist and author Fareed Zakaria’s column and show was suspended by Times & CNN for alleged plagiarism.

Time editor-at-large and CNN host Fareed Zakaria had illegally copied several paragraphs from Harvard history professor Jill Lepore’s New Yorker piece in his recent column “The Case for Gun Control.”  In one paragraph the readers found uncanny similarity which later on Zakaria admitted of copying.

Zakaria apologised to CNN, Times Jill and all the readers by stating this incident as “a terrible mistake” and “it is a serious lapse and one that is entirely my fault.” Although Time magazine has accepted Zakaria’s apology, but the suspension continues for “pending further review”.

Fareed Rafiq Zakaria was born on January 20, 1964 in Mumbai in India. His father, Rafiq Zakaria, was a popular Congress politician and his mother, Fatima Zakaria, was the editor of the Times of India. In 2010, Zakaria was honoured with the Padma Bhushan for his contribution towards journalism by government of India. He was specialized in issues related to international relations, trade and American foreign policy.

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
