Katrina Kaif Surpasses Anna Hazare As the Most Searched Person of 2011

As per Google’s  annual report, Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif is the  Indian most searched online in  2011;  social activist and anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare ranks next.

Controversial model Poonam Pandey, IPL tournament, Lokpal Bill, Cricket World Cup 2011 are among the other persons/events/topics most searched  for online this year.

Sachin Tendulkar  emerged as the most searched sports person of 2011, while Facebook is at the top searches  on Google along with YouTube.

Google India Head of Products,  Lalitesh Katragadda, said about the search trend in India:  “Over 70 per cent of search happened in non-metros and a lot of Internet usage moved to mobile phones.”
