Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle-C23 rocket today morning at 9:52 am from Sriharikota in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The 230-ton Polar Satellite was launched carrying five satellites from four countries – France, Germany, Canada and Singapore.
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N Chandrababu Naidu, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu and the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, Jitendra Singh, were also present during the launching.
“The success of the mission fills every Indian’s heart with pride and I can see the joy and satisfaction on your faces,” Modi said adding, “Today’s satellites are from developed nations. This is a global endorsement of our space programme.”
“I have heard that the Hollywood movie Gravity cost more than our Mars mission – this is a great achievement,” he added.
