Irom Sharmilla says no to AAP’s offer

‘Iron Lady of Manipur’ Irom Sharmila Chanu has declined AAP’s offer to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls under its party symbol.

Irom Sharmila who is on fast fighting for revoking of the controversial Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from the state for the last 14 years has said that she is not ready to enter into the politics.

“Since I don’t want to enter politics, I have applied my mind and rejected the offer this morning,” Sharmila told reporters.

Meanwhile Manipur police charged the Sharmila under section 309 IPC for attempt to commit suicide.

“Politics according to me is uncertain and vague as the people cannot keep their faith and trust on the politicians all the time,” said Sharmila.
