Noted Indian columnist Bobby Ghosh chosen as the new editor of Time International.
Martha Nelson (editor-in-chief) and Rick Stengel (Managing Editor) sent a joint mail to the staff and announced the news on Friday.
“It gives me great pleasure to announce that Bobby Ghosh is our new international editor. Bobby, quite simply, is a magnificent journalist who has done the highest level of work that one can aspire to in our profession…Bobby, whose recent India stories for TIME have included profiles of cricket god Sachin Tendulkar; Bollywood star Aamir Khan and world chess champ Vishwanathan Anand, replaces Jim Frederick, who now becomes a contributing editor,” the mail said.
“He was not only fearless in his work in Iraq but he was the guardian of all who worked for us in Baghdad… He is entrepreneurial by nature and has many ideas on how to grow the TIME brand,” the staff announcement email said,” it added.
Bobby joined Times Group in 1998.
