After huge launch in India, Xiaomi phones have already downgraded their impression by allegedly stealing user’s private data and transmitting them to Chinese servers.
Now Indian Air Force (IAF) has warned users against using Xiaomi phones with same reasons. IAF has suggested its force and their families to stay away from these devices as they are retrieving user information from phone and sending information to servers in Beijing, China.
The IAF’s has prepared a note based on the investigations by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team.
Indian Express quoted the latest IAF alert note which says, “F-secure, a leading security solution company, recently carried out a test of Xiaomi Redmi 1s, the company’s budget smartphone, and found that the phone was forwarding carrier name, phone number, IMEI (the device identifier) plus numbers from address book and text messages back to Beijing.”
According to media reports, the government of Tiwan is also investigating on the same threat against Xiaomi.
