According to a survey by IMRB and the Internet & Mobile Association of India, India would be the third largest user of Internet – next only to US -the technology giant, and China – the population juggernaut. According to the survey, one in every ten Indians would be using the Net by the end of the year.According to the survey, India had 112 million users accessing the Net to e-mail, access one or more social media sites, chat, etc. According to the survey, about 5-7 million new users are accessing the Net every month in India. It is expected that the user base is going to cross that of the US in just about two years.
