Income Tax department officials made a raid in a building in Delhi’s upscale Safdarjung Enclave vis-á-vis forgery case today. The officials had no idea what was about to be brought to the surface.
Acting on a tip-off, the department stormed to the apartment in South Delhi, in search of one P N Sanial. Reportedly, the 63-year-old businessman used counterfeited letterheads of MPs, Naresh Agarwal and Jagdambika Pal, to get his work done in government offices. Many forged letters of MPs were also dug out from the house.
During this raid, two female foreign nationals were also detained. It was after this that the Delhi Police was notified.
The police was told by the women that they were being blackmailed by Mr Sanial, who also kept their travel documents in custody.
The Police surmised that Sanial and an ex-colonel Ajay Ahlawat were running a sex racket. Another retired armyman, who is also believed to be involved in the racket, is also on the run.
Since the suspects deal with government department officials the cops are now probing whether these women were used as honey trap.
