Four policemen suspended after attack on Abu Salem in Mumbai jail

Following an attack on gangster Abu Salem’s life inside Taloja Central Jail earlier this week, four Mumbai policemen were suspended on Friday.

Inmate Devendra Jagtap shot at Abu Salem twice, but he escaped the attack with a minor injury on his right hand.

Salem’s lawyer is set to file an application in court citing threat to his life.

“It is a serious security breach when weapons get inside the jail. The person who decided to attack must have planned it. Details will be known after the inquiry,” BK Gupta, former DG of Tihar Jail, told CNN-IBN.

Some unconfirmed media reports are suggesting that the attack was planted by dawood imbrahim’s D-Company and Chhota Shakeel is behind this attack.
