Former ISRO chief G Madhavan Nair, who has been banned from any government job, resigned from the post of chairman of the board of upcoming IIT, Patna.
Recently Indian government has decided to ban four former ISRO scientists including Nair from any government job for their alleged roles in the Antrix-Devas deal.
G Madhavan Nair told media,”I came here to say goodbye. I am voluntarily stepping down. This college is very close to my heart and it’s my moral responsibility to give them the message. I have nothing to do with the government. It has hurt me very badly. I have not been told anything by the government so far.”
Last year the government had cancelled the controversial deal between Antrix Corporation and Devas Multimedia due to strategic reasons. The contract was for the lease of space segment in S-band on GSAT 6 and 6A satellites which were to be launched by ISRO and the department of space.
