Brazilian footballer Fernandes de Souza sentenced 22 years in jail

Brazilian footballer Bruno Fernandes de Souza has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for murdering his girlfriend Eliza Samudio and fed her chopped body to his dogs.

Bruno Fernandes who played for Brazilian football club Flamengo has admitted that he had murdered 25-year-old Eliza Samudio in order to avoid paying child support in June 2010. Later he fed her to his pet rottweilers.

The goalkeeper had involved with  Eliza Samudio in an extra-marital affiar and that led Samudio to give birth to his love child. Bruno Fernandes and his best friend Luiz Henrique Romao was involved in this murder along with Bruno’s wife Dayane and his cousins.

They hired a hitman to torture her severly before killing, Fernandes even helped the hitman chop up her body.

Romao was given 15 years inprisonment.
