According to a survey conducted by the e-commerce giant eBay, Delhi has emerged as the top e-commerce hub in India in 2012 followed by Mumbai, Jaipur, Bengaluru and Chennai.
According to the eBay census 2012, India has 4306 e-commerce hubs with $800 million market size. However it is expected that Indian e-commerce market will grow to $5 billion by 2015.
The top five states which had the most transactions in 2012 were Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are catching up very rapidly.
Among the products Electronics continue to dominate the online market 48% share followed lifestyle products with 41%.
