In the latest developments in the case of the Malaysian Airlines MH 370 that went missing or ‘off air’ about two years ago and continues to be one of the greatest aviation mysteries in the world, the nation of Australia has stated that a piece of suspected aeroplane debris has been recovered towards the east of Africa on Mauritius, which shall be examined to verify whether it is a part of the plane.
Last month itself, the island nation had said that debris found in Mozambique were “almost certainly from MH370” and back last year, French authorities stated a part of the wing of the same make was found on the Indian Ocean island of Reunion.
Australia has played a pivotal part in the search for the plane, that went missing in March 2014 with around 239 people aboard en route Beijing, from Kuala Lumpur, to Beijing. At the time of this article, the Malaysian government was working with authorities from Mauritius ‘to seek the custody of the debris and arrange for its examination’.
The Malaysian government remained unavailable for comment on the matter.
