The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria has been making news again, this time by directing their so-called hackers to release a what has been viewed by the Interpol to be a ‘hit-list’ that comprises of no less than 3,600 ordinary New Yorkers, alongwith American security personnel and a few cities.
The Caliphate Cyber Army (CCA) is said to be an autonomous body functioning within the state that has been releasing such vital pieces of information about the targets. In the videos and voice tapes that have been made viral by them, they have also urged the other terrorist and militant groups to fight. Police have been making several attempts to curb the attacks, however it’s been viewed that the ISIS is always a step ahead in these matters. Innocent individuals, meanwhile, are being contacted about the threat received from the cyber gang, which includes leakage of their personal information such as their names, home and email addresses.
Apparently, the list mostly consists of government employees within the state department and security authority. Further investigation by the intelligence experts who have been hired for this case by the police believe that the huge scores of names could have been merely chosen at a random stake.
However, federal agents and New York City police officers do not believe in the fact that there is a ‘credible’ threat, stated an official source. While the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) states to follow their standard notion of refusing to comment on such confidential matters, it remarks to view some of the information to be ‘outdated’,
Back in 2015, an ISIS coalition group, in yet another stance, had posted another sequence of such names, addresses and photos of 100 US military service members and had urged upon it’s followers to finish them, once and for all. American officials have detained and sentenced more than 60 individuals for attempting to join the Islamic State, since 2013. Their activities have resulted into panic being infused in public, with the heads of several states coming together and finding out alternatives to stop them.
