According to the latest information that has been made global, huge flames have taken control over and spread to large regions of Provence, France, prompting officials to immediately evacuate the area, around the Rhone river delta.
Large, packed neighbourhoods in cities of Vitrolles, Istres and Fos, near Marseille, were evacuated Wednesday evening as the flames continued erupting, with several blazes being sufficient to burn down and cause casualties in the regions mentioned. Flights are said to have been re-routed, owing to the mass destructions.
The exact cause as to what triggered the wildfires remains under ambiguity. Four firefighters who bore the brunt of the heat are said to have been recuperating, after they were injured as they struggled against the horrific blazes which also have taken over about 2,000 hectares of land.
