As conflicts still continue to intensify in Yemen, Russia has called up for an emergency UN meet of the Security Council. This meet would be in regards to halt the Saudi Arabia led airstrike to pause the ongoing conflict affecting huge masses of civilians.
The urgent meet is scheduled on Saturday at 3 pm according to the GMT at the United Nations headquarters in New York City. A Middle-eastern coalition with Saudi Arabia in the lead has been actively engaging the Houthi militants by air after Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, the Yemeni President fleet the nation, asking for international aid to once again restore normalcy in the country. Russia had already put forth in front of the Security Council on Thursday it’s amendments on the issue.
Meanwhile, the Houthi militants have reportedly evacuated the presidential palace in Aden, a prime city in Yemen, after a coalition campaign on Friday. The UN and other international organisations estimate that tonnes of people have been killed in the ongoing conflicts since the last two weeks.
