Six missing as boat turns upside down near Greece

On Wednesday, vessels from the Greek coast guards and other marine officials were underway a rescue operation near the eastern part of Aegean Island, Lesbos when a small boat capsized and sunk.

It is believed that there were some seven people aboard, with the a child being dead and the rest of the six reported to be missing, soon after the incident. Marine officials stated that they found a body of a four-year old girl and managed to retrieve it,also rescuing four others. The first two are believed to have drowned in with nine other people who faced the same fate, but around the Turkish waters.

The island of Lesbos has been a major arrival point, thereby making up a refugee point for millions of migrants. However, the numbers have gradually receded since a deal between the EU and Turkey barred much of the movement.
