As China completes a decade old leadership transition, the new Chinese President, Xi Jinping, calls for renaissance in China. He asks people to fight for “the great renaissance of the Chinese nation,” in his first speech at the annual National People’s Congress in Beijing.
President Xi Jinping calls for greater national unity and he said his government will focus on economic development in the country. He warns people on challenges from corruption and crime in the country.
China’s new Premier Li Keqiang has said Beijing would “win the trust of the people”. In his maiden speech the Chinese Premier said his government will cut government expenditure.
Li Keqiang told media that the government had “an unshakeable resolve and determination to fight corruption”.
