French police has searched IMF chief Christine Lagarde’s flat in Paris on Wednesday. The search was ordered by the French authorities who are investigating Lagarde’s role in 2008 compensation payment to a businessman who was closed to former president Nicolas Sarkozy.
Accusations have been made against Lagarde, then finance minister in Sarkozy Government, that she had allegedly approved payment of 285 million euro ($367 million) to businessman Bernard Tapie for supporting Nicolas Sarkozy.
Christine Lagarde denies the charges.
