Pro-Morsi supporters organizing the mass rallies across Egypt on Tuesday in protest of arresting Islamist party leaders and demand of reinstatement of former Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi.
The military-backed interim government arrested two top Islamist party leaders Aboul-Ela Madi and his deputy Essam Sultan of Wasat Party on Monday which fueling the protests.
“We call for a million person march under the banner of ‘Martyrs of the Coup’ on Tuesday,” the Anti-Coup Alliance of Islamist groups organizing the protests said in a statement. The march asks Egyptians “to go out into the streets and squares, to regain their freedom and dignity – that are being usurped by the bloody coup – and for the rights of the martyrs assassinated by its bullets.”
The “million person march” will be held in Cairo and other major cities in Egypt.
Since military overthrew former President Mohamed Morsi, the first democratically elected President of Egypt, on July 3, violent protest erupted in Egypt and Hundreds have been died so far in violent clash between pro and anti Morsi group. On Friday more than 120 people killed in Cairo while the clash broke out.
