According to a Hindu organization Several Hindu temples and households across Bangladesh were attacked since Jamaat-e-Islami leader Delwar Hossain Sayedee was sentenced to death for war crimes in February.
Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad said that nearly 47 Hindu temples and 700 Hindu houses had been damaged against the verdict,
Delwar Hossain Sayedee, the vice-president Jamaat-e-Islami, was sentenced to death for murder and rape committed during the 1971 war.
Kazal Debnath, a vice-president of Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad told AFP, “It was the work of the Jamaat and Shibir, but we also accuse the government, the police and the local government representatives including (our) MPs for failing to protect the temples and our community,”
