In a ferocious speech addressed to the join house of Congress, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cautioned that Iran poses a threat to the entire world, asserting the development of a nuclear deal, which he said was being formed between Iran and the powerful Western countries. Prime Minister Netanyahu claimed that this deal would have a catastrophic effect on the world.
Though the deal imposes restrictions on Iran’s Nuclear Program, Netanyahu said, it would not be enough to prevent a breakout within “about a year by US assessment, a bit shorter by Israel’s.” Blaming Iran, Netanyahu said, while the world had given Iran a chance two years ago to change and moderate with the launch of negotiations over its nuclear program, the Iranian regime is as radical as ever.
The Unites States had initially warned the Israeli Prime Minister against revealing the details on the nuclear talks, which were shared with him on the basis of confidentiality, further asserting that the revelation would mean a betrayal move by Iran and could be a spoiler in the relations between the two nations.
However, at the end of his speech on Tuesday, Netanyahu thanked the US President for the support he had given Israel and mentioning the remarkable alliance between the US and Israel, which he said has always been above politics, and it must always remain above politics. Netanyahu is said to have received a standing ovation for the speech he delivered.
