The wee hours of Wednesday saw Bangladeshi authorities pronounce around 261 people across the length and breadth of the nation as ‘missing’. Attempts to categorise and locate them back come in after the gruesome attacks that have managed to shake the very core of the nation.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), that is responsible for securing the nation, released the list on the popular social media site Facebook around midnight and urged it’s citizens to report the slightest of the details and whereabouts of the missing. “We have to find them,” RAB spokesman Mufti Mahmud Khan said, in his statement to the media.
A national-level extremist group was suspected to be the master-planner behind the terror attack in the capital, earlier this month, that killed several. However later, it was the ISIS who claimed responsibility. The horror unfolded into another series of assaults on the holy day of Eid, wherein three lives were lost.
Media reports state that huge scores of people, including the high-collared employees, students and others have relocated and escaped to the Middle East, in attempts to join the ISIS.
