Clashes broke between US police and protestors, after a white police officer shot a black man in The Berkeley city, Missouri, close to Ferguson. The deceased identified as 18-year-old Antonio Martin, pointed a pistol at the officer, when he approached Martin and his friend at the St Louis gasoline station.
The officer retorted by firing three shots at the teenager, one of which hit him, leading to his death.
Soon after Mr Martin was shot, a mob of 200-300 people gathered and clashed with police officers at the scene. St. Louis Country Police Chief Jon Belmar told BBC that bricks were thrown at the police officers and three explosive devices set-off. Police arrested four people for assault and recovered the gun that belonged to Mr Martin.
By Wednesday morning, the situation had returned back to normalcy, though some protestors were there at the petrol station.
In a press conference, The Berkeley Mayor Theodore Hoskins said that the city as well as St. Louis would hold independent investigations. He added that this incident cannot be compared to that of Ferguson as the video footage of this incident showed the deceased pointing gun at the police officer.
