At least three police officers have died on Sunday evening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana when a man with gun openly fired on police officers, injuring another four officers. The injured were taken to hospital and in critical condition.
Kip Holden, the mayor-president of East Baton Rouge said, “The count is three officers dead possibly,” adding that the police were still trying to get the situation under control.
“There is still an active scene. They are investigating,” he said. “Right now we are trying to get our arms around everything.”
“The scene, we feel now, is contained,” police spokesman Don Coppola told ABC television affiliate WAFB.
