Bangladesh’s ruling party Awami League has won the general elections on Monday amidst violence, low voter turnout and opposition boycott. The win comes at a time when the country is facing its worst civil wars since independence.
At least 21 people were killed in poll-related violence on Sunday and the reports of clashes are keeping coming from different parts of Bangladesh.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s party the Awami League has won 232 out of 300 seats.
