Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Raheel Sharif, reportedly alleged India that it is seeking to ‘undermine’ the nation’s $46 billion project and that it has invested to construct an economic corridor that would aid in ferrying goods and stuff from China’s western areas through the Pakistani port of Gwadar, on Tuesday.
The Chief, in an address to a conference emphasizing on development, stated about the impact of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), elaborating on the significance of the newly-formed alliance, while going a step further and making remarks about its neighbour, India.
“In this context, I must highlight that India, our immediate neighbour, has openly challenged this development initiative,” he expressed firmly.
“I would like to make a special reference to Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) that is blatantly involved in destabilising Pakistan. Let me make it clear that we will not allow anyone to create impediments and turbulence in any part of Pakistan.”
Not just this, Pakistan also believes that India is behind another series of strifes that could lead to misunderstandings between the two nations. Indian authorities, however, remained unavailable for a comment on the matter.
