In the latest development, a Delhi court on Monday, allowed the custodial interrogation of JNU students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya, both arrested on the ground of sedition. The court has also arrested their custody by one more day as the police claimed the duo were required for the further probe to discover the larger conspiracy.
The PTI was told by the police sources that the anti-terror unit of Delhi police — Special Cell — to which the case has been transferred, needed some time to interrogate both the accused.
Khalid, Bhattacharya and the President of the JNUSU, Kanhaiya Kumar were interrogated earlier and the police claim to have identified 22 people subsequently.
