TVS Scooty Zest launched in India at Rs 42,300

TVS Motors has launched upgraded version of its popular two-wheeler the Scooty Zest in Indian market on Wednesday. The all new Scooty Zest is available at Rs 42,300 (ex-showroom Delhi).

Scooty Zest is set to give tough competition to market leader Honda Activa, as Zest is almost Rs 8000 cheaper than the Activa.

Speaking at a launching ceremony TVS Motor Company Vice Chairman and Managing Director Venu Srinivasan said, “We are trying to keep pace with the change in Indian society. We have introduced 110cc (scooterettes) Jupiter, Wego.. The scooter category is fastest growing segment at 26 per cent and we believe it will reach 30 per cent.”

“Scooty became most well known brand when it was launched 15 years ago. Scooty Zest takes to the new level and it’s for people who look for more power and comfort,” he added.

Scooty Zest comes with many new features including floor boards, painted switches, new “twilight” front lamps and an LED tail lamp.

Powered by 110cc CVTi engine, Zest delivers 7.88 bhp peak power at 7,500 rpm and 8 Nm torque at 5,500 rpm. The company claims that Zest will deliver 62 kmpl mileage.

TVS Motors’ CEO and president, KN Radhakrishnan said that the Scooty is aimed to lure young women and the Zest is expected to further intensify that image.
